National Junior Honor Society

After receiving accreditation from the Western Catholic Educational Association (WCEA) in the 2018-2019 school year, Annunciation created its own chapter of the National Junior Honor Society.

The National Junior Honor Society is the nation’s premier organization established to recognize outstanding middle school students. More than just an honor roll, NJHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship. These characteristics have been associated with membership in the organization since its beginning in 1929.

Annunciation’s NJHS will have an informational meeting in September. Membership will be limited to students in grades 7 and 8. Standards for selection are established by the National Office of NJHS and will be revised to meet our local chapter. In addition to having a cumulative grade average of 96.25%, students must also complete an application and receive recommendations from three staff members.
