Happy Friday ACS Families!

Just a reminder that we have Wednesday Park and Pray each week. Parents are welcome to visit the adoration chapel for some quiet time of prayer and reflection. Add your student’s name to the clipboard list in the chapel lobby by 2:45pm, and your student will be escorted to the chapel at dismissal to meet you at 3pm. Park in the chapel lot please! 

Calling all interested students in grades 5-8 to join our ACS Vibrant Vinnies group! This group has an official charter from the St. Vincent de Paul Society and offers meaningful volunteer opportunities for young people to serve others. They have a monthly meeting after school and service projects throughout the school year. Students must apply by August 31.

What’s Happening?

• August 31, Monday: ACS Community Prayer at 2:20pm in the parish hall led by the 8th grade. This is a date change from August 24.
• Sept. 4, Friday: Early dismissal at 12pm. No lunch, no aftercare. Please pack your student a snack and water bottle.
• Sept. 7, Monday:  No school, Labor Day holiday.
• Sept. 9, Wednesday:  Picture Day with Dorian Studios. Individual and class pictures will be taken starting after Mass.  You can pre-order your students pictures now, please visit MyDorian.com
  • K-5 students please wear royal blue school polo shirts. 
  • Girls wearing the plaid jumper must wear the approved white blouse underneath.
  • Only school approved hair accessories. 
  • No face make-up.  
  • 8th graders wear light blue polo. 
  • Please check the ACS uniform code if you are unsure or call the office.

After School Care and Extracurricular Activities

• Aftercare is available each full school day until 5:30pm. Please visit our Extended Care info page for details.
• Afterschool Extracurricular Clubs:
  • Mondays: Crazy Cool Science Club.  Session one starts  8/20. Session two starts- 1/7  Link to register
  • Tuesdays: Sticky Fingers: Fall session 8/25-10/27 Link to Register, Winter session 11/17-2/16 Link to register, Spring session 3/2-5/11 Link to register
  • Wednesdays: Chess Club:  Wednesdays, Fall session  8/26 – 11/18. Link to register
  • Wednesdays: Art Angels Fall and Holiday Sessions – 2 classes offered by grades. K-3 and 4th -6th. Session 1 is from 9/30-10/28.  Session 2 is from 11/4-12/9. $200 per child per session. Club runs from 3:15-4:30pm. 
  • Thursdays: PlayWell Lego Engineering – Fall Session runs from 8/20-10/15. Link to register

Volunteer Opportunities

• Safe Environment Training required for all volunteers:  Please visit our Volunteer Info webpage to learn how to start/renew your Volunteer Certification and learn how to download the MobileServe App to volunteer and to record your service hours. 
• Help Needed – Volunteers for lunch duty needed. Visit MobileServe to sign up and enter your service hours. Your help is needed so please come when you can. Lunchtime is an easy way to volunteer, meet new friends and see your student!
