What’s Happening?
December 2, Saturday: Kiwanis Christmas Event “for the kids” at Sanderson Center Carefree (101 Easy St, Carefree, AZ) from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. This FREE event will again feature Kiwanis giving away bicycles to the kids of three different age groups every hour. Kids and parents have to be there to win! The event will also include puppies, games, face painting, carriage rides, and Santa Claus! FREE hot dogs, popcorn, cookies, and hot chocolate too!
December 2, Saturday: Tickets for our ACS Night at the Phoenix Suns game on Saturday, December 2, are still available for purchase! Join us to watch Devin Booker, Kevin Durant and the new-look Suns square off against the Memphis Grizzlies. Tickets include exclusive access to pregame warm-ups courtside. Limited ACS seats are still available on a first come basis, purchase your tickets here:

December 3, Sunday: Advent begins! The Catholic Identity Committee has provided some information for families to celebrate the Season of Advent. Resources for the Season of Advent from the Catholic Identity Committee.
December 4-7, Mon – Thur: ACS Christmas Market is open for student shopping. Information went home with your student today. Monday is a preview day. Shopping available on Tues and Wed. Thursday shopping on an as needed basis.

December 4, Monday: Knights of Columbus Dinner for Military Families. Dine in at the Creek Patio Grill 28244 Tatum Blvd. A percentage of your bill goes to help support military families In need this Christmas. 11:30am – 9pm. Must present the flier to your server!
December 5, 6, Tues, Wed: Parish Advent Mission Savior & Sustenance ‘Come to the Manger’ an invitation to a Eucharistic life. Adoration and reconciliation available. Become a living monstrance to share with others. In the church at 6pm.
December 5,6,7, Tue-Thu: Frozen Jr – Students sign up for an audition slot: Click to Audition Here This is a No cut performance. All students will audition and receive a part. Students will sing 16 bars/30 seconds of a song of their choice and read a few lines in small groups. Tue/Wed: audition Thur: dance and callbacks. Dec 11, Mon: Casting will be announced.
December 7: Track and Field coed. Student interest in the ACS Track and Field team has been amazing. The first team practice has been pushed out to December 7 to allow more time for all the new athletes to get their paperwork completed. This is a co-ed team. If your student is in grades 5-8 and wants to participate please contact Coach Dave at athletics@acsphx.org. Practices will be on Thursdays from 3-4pm. Parent meeting at 3:45pm Meet at the basketball court bleachers. Athletic forms are available at https://acsphx.org/athletics/
December 10, Sunday: Breakfast with St. Nick at Our Lady of Joy at 10am. All are welcome. Please see the flier.
December 13, Wednesday: Dorian Photographers return to campus for Individual portrait retakes. Please email office@acsphx.org if your student will need retakes. If you ordered pictures, please bring them on retake day.
December 15, Friday: Next 8th Grade Free dress $1 to help support the 8th grade end of year field trip to Flagstaff. Upcoming free dress dates (Friday): January 19, February 23, March 15, April 19.
December 20,Wednesday: Annunciation Christmas Concert in the church at 6:30 pm. All are welcome to this festive evening! Students arrive by 6:10pm.
December 21, Thursday: Noon Dismissal. No aftercare. No lunch service.
December 22 – January 5, 2024: Christmas break. Have a joyous and safe holiday break. School resumes January 8, 2024.
Coming Up!
Spring season for Soccer Shots. Enroll/register HERE For students K-2nd, build soccer skills, coordination, friendships and fun. Soccer Shots meet on Wednesday, 3:10 – 4:10pm.
Volunteer Opportunities
ACS Volunteers: We appreciate all of our ACS volunteers.
- If you have not completed your Volunteer certification, please visit our Volunteer Service web page for complete information. This must be completed before you can volunteer.
- Download the Mobileserve App! Signup for volunteer opportunities and is used to track all volunteer hours. Parents, please create an account. Instructions are attached. With your account, you’ll be able to view and sign up for events at the school.
- URGENT: We need volunteers for lunch duty Dec. 4 – Dec 8. Lunch duty opportunities are available at Mobile Serve. Lunchtime is an easy way to volunteer, meet new friends and see your student! Plus, we need your help!
