What’s Happening?

October 28, Saturday: ACS Trunk or Treat. After the 4:30 pm Mass. View the Trunk or Treat details and info on purchasing tickets to decorate your car and food (pizza).  View the Trunk or Treat arrival information here!

October 29, Sunday: Jason Evert.  2 talks – Purified – a life changing event and Gender & The Theology of your Body.  Students 7 – 12 grades and their parents are highly encouraged to attend.  Brunch:  11:45 am – 1pm, Sacrament of Reconciliation and Eucharistic Adoration 3:45 – 4:15 pm. October 30, Monday: ACS Book Fair begins! In the parish hall through Friday, Nov. 3.

October 31, Tuesday: The ACS Student Entrepreneur Club will meet at lunch time in the parish hall. 

October 31, Tuesday: Community Prayer at 2:20pm led by 6th grade in the Parish Hall.  Fruit of the Spirit for October:  Self Control.

November 1, Wednesday:  All Saints Day holy day of obligation.  Students will attend Mass at 8:15am in the church. and

November 2, Thursday: Remembrance Mass on All Souls Day at 6:30 pm for our loved ones who have gone before us.

November 1 & 2, Wed & Thurs:  Halloween Candy Drive for the Troops: Please consider donating any extra or unwanted Halloween candy to be sent in care packages to our Arizona-based deployed service members!  American Heritage Girls will be at school drop-off in the mornings to collect any donations.  

November 2, Thursday: Night of Hope 6:00 – 6:30 PM  Watch live on the Diocese of Phoenix YouTube or Facebook page  Make your gift at dphx.org/catholic-schools-365/  The school with the highest percentage of registrations for Night of Hope earn $5,000 for tuition assistance! November 3, Friday: Click the link to view the itinerary for our All Saints Day/Grandparents’ Day Daily Mass is at 8:15am in the chapel for all visitors. The student Presentation of Saints will begin at 9am in the church.  Refreshments for grandparents and guests in the parish hall, plus classroom visits, and shopping at the book fair!

November 3, Friday: Early dismissal at 12pm. No aftercare, no lunch.  End of 1st Trimester.

November 4, Saturday: Join Deacon Jim Walsh for A Retreat on Spirituality II: Closed Circuit: Wired For God. What existed before creation? Why is that important to us? A never ending flow of love. Why suffering? After death – something final that never ends. 8:45am Check-In and Continental Breakfast in the parish hall. 9:15am-3:00pm Retreat. No Charge, Lunch Included. Questions? November 10, Friday: Term 1 report cards will be sent home for Kinder -3rd grade. Grades 4-8 will be available at 3pm on the FACTS family Portal

November 10, 11, Friday & Saturday  Visit the 16th annual Our Lady of Joy Christmas Bazaar.  This event will showcase the talents of more than 70 gifted artisans. Many of your old favorites will be returning as well as unique new offerings. Vendors include Italian imported pastas & olive oils, women’s clothing, photography, woodworking, handmade Santa’s, tabletop Christmas trees, yard art, wrist wrap bracelets, candles, decorated steer heads, glass, clay ornaments and Gnome Mugs, rope bowls & art quilts and much more! 

Coming Up!

November 10, Friday:  Veterans and their families are invited to the annual Veteran’s Day Ceremony at St. Gabriel Catholic Church.  Guests are welcome to attend morning Mass in the Chapel at 8:15am (students will not be attending Mass) and then gather for a simple ceremony and blessing for veterans in the Parish Hall commencing at 9:15am. We will finish with a raising of our National flag by the outside flagpole. Small reception to follow for Veterans and family.  Please share this invitation with all the veterans you may know!

November 11, Saturday: ACS Dads Club Annual Campus Cleanup Day, 8:30 – 11:30AM. Dads and kids, join us for our annual effort to clean and beautify the wonderful ACS campus. Earn service hours and enjoy time together as we strengthen community pride in our school grounds. RSVP to join the Cleanup crew by sending email to: dadsclub@acsphx.org.

November 18, Saturday: Save the Date for the ACS Fall Fest Family Movie Night and Food trucks. After 4:30pm Mass. More information is coming soon!  

December 2, Saturday:  Kiwanis Christmas Event “for the kids” at Sanderson Center Carefree (101 Easy St, Carefree, AZ) from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.  This FREE event will again feature Kiwanis giving away bicycles to the kids of three different age groups every hour.  Kids and parents have to be there to win! The event will also include puppies, games, face painting, carriage rides, and Santa Claus!  FREE hot dogs, popcorn, cookies, and hot chocolate too!

December 2, Saturday: ACS Night at the Phoenix Suns Game! Join us for the Suns vs. Grizzlies game, discounted tickets include special access to watch pregame warm-ups courtside. Wreaths Across America: Please join American Heritage Girls Troop AZ0015 in honoring our local heroes and veterans by sponsoring a wreath to be placed on a veteran’s grave this Christmas at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona.  Please click here to sponsor a wreath: www.wreathsacrossamerica.org/AZ0229P .  A portion of each sponsorship will benefit our Troop.  We hope to honor, remember, and pray for as many veterans as possible this Christmas as we lay these wreaths upon their graves in December.  Thank you!  God Bless America!


Volunteer Opportunities

ACS Volunteers: We appreciate all of our ACS volunteers.   

  • If you have not completed your Volunteer certification, please visit our Volunteer Service web page for complete information. This must be completed before you can volunteer.
  • Download the Mobileserve App! Signup for volunteer opportunities and is used to track all volunteer hours.  Parents, please create an account.  Instructions are attached.  With your account, you’ll be able to view and sign up for events at the school.
  • URGENT: We need volunteers for lunch duty October 27 – Nov 2. October lunch duty opportunities are available at Mobile Serve. Lunchtime is an easy way to volunteer, meet new friends and see your student!  Plus, we need your help!
