Hello ACS Families,

Here are your updates for the week ending on Friday, February 10, 2023…

Transportation of Minor Forms (TOM):  Many families are missing their TOM.  Field trips are coming up as well as their Lenten Retreats.  The Transportation of Minor form must be notarized and in the office for students to attend their field trips.  A form is attached for your convenience.

What’s Happening?
Every Monday & Wednesday Evening: Middle School and High School Youth Group led by Eric Ochoa 6pm – 8pm in the Youth Center.  Join us for fellowship, friendship and fun!

February 15, Wednesday: Double header Rubio’s and Cherry On Top Fundraising Dine Out.Join us at Rubio’s Coastal Grill on 2/15 from 11 am – 8pm 32415 N Scottsdale Rd, Scottsdale, and Cherry on Top   32421 N Scottsdale Rd, Suite 115 Scottsdale from 11 to 8pm.  A percentage of sales will be donated to ACS!  Join the fun, bring your family and friends, and make new friends!  See attached fliers.

February 16, Thursday:  ACS 7th grade Science Fair.  Held in the Parish Hall.  All are welcome to view the students’ projects.

February 18, 19, Sat & Sun:   VNSA Book Sale  Calling all book lovers and/or parents who want their children to become book lovers!  VNSA Book Sale is at the Arizona State Fairgrounds, in the Agriculture Building.  It’s FREE to attend, but the State Fairgrounds charges a fee to park.  Doors open at 8am!  Books start at $1 and everything is 50% on Sunday!  This event is one of the largest used book sales in Phoenix every year!  With over 600,000 books available, the VNSA Book Sale has something for everyone and all proceeds go to local charities!  Some of the many categories include: History, Science, Religion, Fiction, Cook Books, AZ History, Non Fiction, Travel, and the biggest category… Children’s!  You can also buy Vinyl Records!  Need any more info:  https://vnsabooksale.org.   or feel free to contact Angela Riley at smileyrileys007@yahoo.com with any questions!  People literally bring suitcases to carry all of the books they find!

February 22, Wednesday:  Ash Wednesday 8:15 am Mass.  All are welcome to attend Mass and receive ashes in the morning or in the evening at 6:30pm in the Church.

February 23, Thursday:  Community Prayer at 8:10am in the Parish Hall led by 2nd grade.  

Feb – Mar, Fridays:  Stations of the Cross in the Church at 2:20pm.  Led by a different class each Friday.  All are welcome to join.

Future Happenings  

February 24, Friday: ACS Night at the Phoenix Suns Game! Tickets are now SOLD OUT! Thank you to everyone for your interest in the event. Families that purchased tickets will receive an email from Mike Scagnoli next week with details for game night and instructions on how tickets will be delivered prior to February 24. March 4, Saturday: Annual Daddy & Daughter Dance 6:30 – 8:30pm, ACS Outdoor Pavilion. Invitations were sent home with all ACS girls last week. A copy is also attached to this email. Reserve tickets online today! https://annunciation.schoolauction.net/acscrosscountry/g/daddydaughterdance

Our new Lunch Program is now available through Dishes 2U.  Meals may be purchased up to 11am the day prior.  There are 5 vendors each serving 1 day of the week.  When you purchase your student’s meals, please make sure you go to your cart and submit.  The cart should be empty.  If there is anything left in the cart, it will not be ordered and therefore no lunch for your student.  If you have any questions, do not hesitate to call Dishes 2U customer care or the office.

Volunteer Opportunities
Evening Under the Stars: The Evening Under the Stars-The Joker’s Wild- will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2023. A lot of fun things are planned for this event.  If you are interested in being part of the team, please email Keli McCann at kmccann@acsphx.org.  Volunteers are needed for the following committees; Auction, Donations, Sponsorships, Baskets, Setup, and Clean up.

 ACS Volunteers:  We appreciate all of our ACS volunteers.  

Complete your Safe Environment Training with CMGconnect .   All training is online – renewal (Online Renewal for Lay Persons -Safe Haven Part 3) and 1st time volunteers: Online Foundation Training Safe Haven-It’s Up to You. Your safe environment training must be completed prior to volunteering on campus. Please complete it as soon as possible.  

MobileServe App is used to track all volunteer hours.  Parents, please create an account. With your account, you’ll be able to view and sign up for events at the school.  View and join the volunteer opportunities that are available.  Thank you for being part of the ACS Community.  URGENT: We need volunteers for lunch duty through February!  Lunchtime is an easy way to volunteer, meet new friends and see your student!  Plus, we need your help!  Please sign up to volunteer for Lunch Duty February 2023.
