Dear ACS families,

As you know, our school hosted a team of educators last week for the purpose of renewing our accreditation with Western Catholic Educational Association. The team met with staff, parents, administration and students to learn about our school. What’s Happening?

Monday/Tuesday, Nov. 25/26: Student auditions for the school musical “The Wizard of Oz”. All students (especially our middle school students) are encouraged to audition and be part of this fun production which will take place in March. Auditions on Monday from 3-6pm in the parish hall. Tuesday, Nov. 26: Last day of school before Thanksgiving break!

• Student and staff Thanksgiving feast. Send a packed lunch if your child doesn’t enjoy Thanksgiving fare. 
• 2:20pm join us for Community Prayer in the parish hall, led by the 5th grade.

Wed. – Fri., Nov. 27-29: Thanksgiving break! No school. 

Coming Up!

Wednesday, Dec. 4: Mock interviews for 8th grade students. Students will participate in mock interviews in preparation for high school. 

Thursday, Dec. 5: Arizona Tuition Connection scholarship info session will be held on the 2nd floor of the adult formation building (parish admin). Learn about the tuition tax credit scholarship, how to cover the cost of tuition, and how it relates to ESA. If you can’t make the December date, they will be back Jan 16, Feb. 13 and March 11.  

Sunday, Dec. 8: Santa will be in the parish hall after all Sunday Masses for pictures! More info to come!

Monday, Dec. 9: Holy day of obligation, Feast of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Mass at 8:15am. Students will not attend Wednesday Mass.

Mon.- Friday, Dec 9 – 13: ACS Christmas Market in the parish hall. More details to follow!

Wed., Dec. 11: Picture retakes with Dorian Studios. Picture day attire required.  Please email the office if you wish to have your student’s picture retaken.

Wed, Dec. 11, 6:30-7:30: Digital Safety Parent Presentation by Dr. Lisa Strohman, psychologist and online safety expert. Location on the 2nd floor adult faith formation building (parish admin). Learn how to keep your child safe online. If you have never attended one of her talks, please don’t miss it. Good for all parents no matter your child’s age. You will learn things you never knew about the dangers of kids being online, including video games!

Tues. Dec. 17, 6:30pm: Advent Penance Service at St. Gabriel’s – Several priests will be available for confession this evening.

Thurs. Dec. 19: ACS Christmas Concert at 6:30pm in the church. Students arrive by 6:10pm. Girls in modest Christmas attire and guys in ties please. (Modest = no high heels, no strapless/spaghetti straps, mini length, form fitting, etc.)

Fri., Dec. 20: Early dismissal at 12pm. No lunch, no aftercare.
