Weekly Updates – November 20, 2020

Hello ACS Families,

Here are your Updates for the week ending on Friday, November 20, 2020.

What’s Happening?

November 23, Monday: $1 Free Dress for 8th Grade Grand Canyon Trip. Thank you for your generosity. Your continued support is greatly appreciated. Students must adhere to school uniform policy for non-uniform dress.

November 24, Tuesday: Annual Thanksgiving Feast.  An ACS Family is providing lunch for students and staff with all the trimmings! We are very blessed!  Lunch includes turkey, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, string beans and dessert.  Blue Willo catering lunch has been cancelled.  If your student prefers something else, please pack a lunch from home.  Due to Covid restrictions, staff will be serving the feast.  We still need our scheduled lunch duty volunteers to help with clean up and recess supervision.

November 25, Wedenesday:  8:15 a.m. Mass for K-3.  Noon dismissal.  No Lunch service.  No aftercare available.

November 26 & 27 Thursday & Friday:  Thanksgiving break.  No school.  9 a.m. Thanksgiving Mass at St. Gabriel – Happy Thanksgiving!

November 30, Monday: Community Prayer led by the 6th grade class at 8:10 a.m.

December 4, Friday  will be the start of the annual Pajama drive.  Please pick up all sizes of pajamas for boys, girls, moms or dads. There will be a collection box in the K3 and the middle school buildings.

December 4, Friday:  Noon Dismissal. No lunch service.  Teacher’s In Service.  Please email [email protected] if you will need aftercare.

December 6, Sunday: Due to COVID restrictions on singing and size of gatherings, we will not have a school Christmas Concert on Dec. 16. However, the parish and school are planning a St. Nicholas Advent Celebration, drive-in style. Save the date! Please see the attached flyer.

ACS Volunteers:  We appreciate all of our ACS volunteers.

If you have ever been involved in a construction project, this won’t come as a surprise. We have learned that our target date of Dec. 4 for the Certificate of Occupancy has been moved to Dec. 18. The construction team is very confident that this date is firm. That means Saturday, Dec. 19 will be our first moving day instead of our last.

We have removed Dec. 5 and 12 from the Mobile Serve sign up page and added Monday, Dec. 21 and Tuesday, Dec. 22. We are hoping that some parents will be at home and available during that time. Remember, no students, please, except for 8th graders. We are also reaching out to our ACS alumni who are in high school and college. We are hoping to add many of them to our volunteer roster for the three moving days.

Please go to https://mobileserve.com/ to volunteer. Many hands make light work!
